Reunited After 45 Years | A Father and his First Hot Rod: Desert Swap
Posted on January 04 2024
On this episode we dive into the mind of a great friend and fellow hot rodder, Brett ‘Cobba’ Weary. Cobba and His Brother Damien put their heads together to create a very special moment. A moment that will last for decades to come.
Ron Weary- their father, has had his first Hotrod stored deep in the shed. And for the past 45 years it’s laid dormant in the attic of their suburban home. An event at Lake Perkolilli called ‘The Red Dust Revival’ played the perfect place for body swap and debut on the morning of the last drivers meeting. There was a handful of close friends and volunteers who helped take the body off the frame that Cobba had been previously racing.
This was the perfect foundation for Ron’s three window coupe body. His reaction that early morning will be one of those moments that will go down in Perkolilli history. It certainly was a pleasure to help and watch this perfect story unfold. The cherry on the cake was to watch Ron do a lap around the race track. There’s too many people to thank here but you all know who you are and the special role you played in order to make this all happen.
